The Burlington County Bicycle Master Plan is the first comprehensive bicycle planning effort in Burlington County. The purpose of this project is to develop a strategy for creating a countywide bikeway network. The plan's focus is to create a safe, convenient and connected bikeway network that bicyclists can use for recreation or transportation. To accomplish this, the plan intends to connect existing on- and off-road bikeways and expand the county's network of on-road bikeways to connect residents and travelers to destinations and transit connections throughout the county and region. The planning effort is being led by Cross County Connection Transportation Management Association, in partnership with Burlington County.

Phase I of this two-phase plan will develop a proposed county bikeway network. Phase II of the plan will focus on implementation strategies and will integrate Phase I findings into a comprehensive Burlington County Bicycle Master Plan. This first phase will be completed in June 2013, while Phase II is expected to be completed in 2014. The plan is funded by the Federal Highway Administration through the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission's Supportive Regional Highway Planning Program. Informing the first phase is an inventory of existing and proposed bikeways in Burlington County currently being conducted by Cross County Connection, funded by a Federal Highway Administration grant through the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority.
