SRT from Shawmont to Montco Line Approaching Completion
The Shawmont to Montco section of the Schuylkill River Trail, one of Philly's TIGER projects, is in the last stages of construction. These photos, from late August and late September, show a wonderful wide new paved path that will connect the Manayunk Tow Path to Nixon Street (across the SEPTA Right of Way), and then a path stretching from the intersection of Nixon and Shawmont to the Montgomery County line. Philadephia Parks and Recreation has done a great job! We hope there is a ribbon cutting soon.
