Delaware County

Delaware County has several isolated trails, the longest of which is the Radnor Trail.  Several trails are under various stages of study, including the Valley Forge to Heinz Refuge Trail, the Newtown Square Line trail, and the Darby Creek trail. The Chester Creek Trail is under design.  Delaware County has a significant section of East Coast Greenway planned through it, but most is still under study or design.

In 2011, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded Haverford Township $290,000 for construction of the Darby Creek Trail.

In 2012, the DVRPC Regional Trail Program awarded the Delaware County Planning Department $12,000 for the East COast Greenway Inactive Railroad Right-of-way Title Search.

In 2013, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded funding for two projects in Delaware County: Delaware County was awarded $500,000 for the construction of the Darby Creek Stream Valley Park Trail. Haverford Township was awarded $340,000 for the construction of the Newtown Square Rail Trail.
