Bucks County contains 50 miles of the scenic Delaware Canal Towpath, part of the Delaware and Lehigh Trail system, and the longest contiguous trail in Eastern Pennsylvania. Currently under construction is the 202 Parkway Trail which will pave nine miles of path from Montgomeryville to just outside Doylestown. When the Parkway Trail is completed, it will be the longest paved bikeway in Bucks County.

In 2011, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded two grants to Bucks County projects. $130,148  was awarded to Doylestown Township for construction of Phase I of the Neshaminy Creek Greenway and $471,000 was awarded to PA DCNR for construction of the US Route 13 Crossing.

In 2012, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded $60,000 to the Bucks County Commissioners for a Neshaminy Creek Greenway Multi-use Trail feasibility study.

In 2013, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded funding to two projects in Bucks County. Bucks TAM was granted $249,000 for the Route 13-Green Lane Trail Connector. Chalfont Borough was awarded $188,768 for the design and engineering of their section of the Neshaminy Creek Greenway.
