Camden County

While Camden County does not have an overabundance of linear trails outside of Cooper River Park, there is a little-known network of trails in the Gibbsboro area which is worth a visit. Accessible via bike lanes from the Lindenwold PATCO station, some of these trails wind through a wooded area that is an outlier of the Pine Barrens. 

The County is currently developing a trails and bikeway plan that will lay out its priorities for trail development over the next few years. There are several proposed long distance trails, such as the Delaware River Heritage Trail and the River to Bay Trail, which would connect the County out in all four directions. Another possible corridor is a light rail with trail which could connect Camden with Glassboro and a planned trail to Bridgeton, but it will require political will to ensure that a trail is accommodated within or adjacent to the railroad right of way.

In 2011 the DVRPC Regional Trails Program funded two projects in Camden County: The Cooper's Ferry Development Corporation was granted $150,000 for the design of the Baldwin's Run Tributary Trail. Camden County was given $125,000 for the construction of the Kaighn's Avenue to Route 130 Connector Trail.

In 2013, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program  granted $400,000 for construction of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Walkway Bicycle and Pedestrian Ramp.
