Montgomery County
Since the first section of the Schuylkill River Trail was completed in 1978, Montgomery County has been the regional leader for trail development. While construction of the County’s comprehensive trail network has slowed in recent years, two new projects are slated to break ground in 2012: A section of the Chester Valley Trail in Upper Merion Township, and the upgrade of the Schuylkill Canal Towpath in Lower Providence.
