Chester County
Chester County's Planning Department and Parks and Recreation Department are actively working hard to complete three multi-use trails: the Schuylkill River Trail and the Chester Valley Trail, which was converted from the Chester Valley Rail Line and the Struble Trail. Chester County also has five trails within its own county park system. Chester County has its own trail (including footpaths) map here.
In 2011, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded funding to two projects in Chester County: Chester County was granted $500,000 for construction of Phase III of the Chester Valley Trail, and Phoenixville Borough was granted $285,000 for the design and constructino of Phase I of the Phoenixville Schuylkill River Trail Segment.
In 2012, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded funding to two projects in Chester County: $32,000 was awarded to the Transportation Management Association of Chester County for construction of the Paoli-Chester Valley Trail Connector.$40,000 was awarded to the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association for construction of the Schuykill River Trail Phoenixville-Mont Clare Connector.
In 2013, the DVRPC Regional Trails Program awarded $365,000 to Phoenixville Borough for design and construction of Phase II of the Phoenixville Schuykill River Trail.
