New Castle County

New Castle County hosts the Northern Delaware Greenway, which meanders through natural areas, suburban housing developments, and reclaimed land from Route 13 to Brandywine Park in Wilmington. This trail, parts of which are not yet built, is part of the East Coast Greenway and will eventually connect the Wilmington waterfront with New Castle.

The city of Newark already has miles of bike lanes and a large student bike commuter population. The James F. Hall Trail and the under-construction Pomeroy Trail will extend the trail through Newark into the Walter S. Carpenter State Park and Chester County.
